The Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League (MetroBoard) is a young professional auxiliary of the Chicago Urban League (CUL), committed to promoting and supporting the ideas and goals of the Urban League movement throughout Chicago and surrounding areas. As the oldest chapter of the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) and the 2017 NULYP Central Region Chapter of Excellence, MetroBoard has served as a premier organization for young professionals in the metropolitan Chicagoland area for the last 35 years. Our vision is to support both the National Urban League (NUL) and Chicago Urban League movements through fundraising, community service, and the development/support of new and existing programs directed towards the CUL’s constituency. We also aim to gain and retain active membership and prepare members for continued service in both the National Urban League and Chicago Urban League as well as their affiliates and auxiliaries. We accomplish this through a diverse set of programming supported by our six committees listed below. Membership in MetroBoard is targeted towards individuals aged 21-40. We not only provide our members the opportunity for community service but personal and professional development through leadership, program management and networking opportunities as well. Since our creation in 1983, MetroBoard has grown to become a diverse and inclusive organization of future leaders. MetroBoard is a part of a national network with over 70 chapters nationwide.
